I live in Delhi, so its not much of an effort if you want to see Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is in Agra, which is around 300 kms from Delhi. The Taj Mahal is such big symbol of Love, that just like your first love you always remember when you first visit it. So here is my story, I went to see it for the first with my better half.
It was a Sunday in the hot Indian Summer, we were feeling lazy so didnt get up until 11:00 A.M. When we did, we were not in the mood to cook anything, so we decided to go out to for the brunch (breakfast cum lunch). We went to a nearby market to have some chole bhature, an Indian dish quiet famous in the northern region of India as a breakfast. After having the brunch, we were just roaming around in the city as on that day, it was cloudy and cool breeze was blowing giving a welcome break from the hot summer. One of the local radio channel was playing and we were enjoying the driving, weather and the music. It was then that RJ announced that the weather in Agra is really getting nice.
I suddenly proposed to my wife, "Lets go to Agra" and she agreed. So, it was decided that we will go home and pack some stuff before leaving. The plan was to reach Agra, see Taj Mahal and the Agra fort, come back the next day. Since next day was a Monday, so we decided to pack some formal clothing for the office next day. We packed whatever leftover we had from the last night party and packed some clothing. In half an hour we were on our way to Agra, it was around 1:00 when we left. After driving for four hours, we reached Agra. On enquiring some of the locals we came to know that the doors of Taj Mahal closes at 5:30, so technically we had half an hour to find the way to Taj Mahal, then park the car and rush to the Taj Mahal door, before it closes. We running short of time. I remember it was around 5:20'ish when we parked the car and were running for the Taj Mahal. After some adventures on that path, we were finally at the doors of Taj Mahal.
What a sight it was, the sun setting in the background, cool breeze flowing and Taj Mahal in front of us with all its glory. Oh ! What a sight it was?

Now when destination was off the list. While coming back, we enquired about the next destination, The Agra Fort. The locals told us that it also closes at 5:30, so obviously there was no time now. Then we found out that it would open at around 8:00 clock in the morning. That would mean reaching Delhi around 1:00 P.M. and office even later. So, we decided there is no point in staying over. After buying some famous Panchi Petha, we were back on our way to Delhi.
